A mill coil is packed in layers. The inner layer stops rust, the outer wrap keeps out water and takes the handling, then protectors and straps hold it together. We make the layers marked below.
The fabric has to be wide enough to cover the coil width and fold over both edges towards the eye. For a 1,250 mm coil with 1,700 mm outer diameter, that is about 2.44 m of fabric, so our 2.50 m standard roll fits. Standard rolls run from 1.83 m to 3.00 m, and we make up to 3.65 m seamless to order.
Once packed, coils and sheets are loaded on trucks and rail wagons and covered again with laminated HDPE sheets for the journey. We make those covers too.

Packed coils and sheets travel hundreds of kilometres on open trailers and rail wagons. The load is covered with a laminated HDPE sheet and roped down, so it has to hold up to wind at highway speed, rain and rope wear.
Service centres and distributors slit and cut CRCA and GI coils into smaller coils and sheets, then re-pack them for panel makers, auto vendors and fabricators. Aluminium rolling mills pack coils and sheets the same way. The paper side sits against the metal and the HDPE side keeps moisture out.

Coal unloaded from rakes at port yards has to be covered to stop dust blowing and to keep out rain before it is shipped or moved on. Pollution control rules require it, and the covers take sun, wind and repeated handling.

Polished stainless bars are sold on their surface finish. A scuff, a water stain or contamination from dirty packing can get a lot rejected, especially in export. Carbon and alloy bright bars also need rust protection.

GSM tells you how heavy a sheet is, not how strong it is. A cheap tarpaulin can reach the same GSM with recycled plastic and filler, but it tears at the eyelets, cracks at the folds and turns brittle in the sun. Then it has to be replaced, again and again. Our tarpaulins are made from 100% virgin HDPE. (Recycled-content rules apply to packaging, not to tarpaulins.) They cost a little more per sheet and last much longer, so you buy fewer of them.

Lamination, printing, slitting and finishing are done at our own unit in Amalgamated Industrial Complex, Asangaon, on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway, within easy road reach of Mumbai, JNPT, Taloja and Khopoli. We started in 1998 with jute lamination and have run HDPE lamination since.
Good lamination starts with good base fabric. Our woven fabric comes from the same trusted weavers we have worked with for years, made to our GSM, width and tape specification. Every lot is checked before it goes on the lamination line, which is why our rolls run the same from one order to the next.
